Nor could it be found anywhere on my OS'C' Drive in the Documents and Settings or Program Files lists. I was unable to uninstall this rogue program as it did not appear on my 'Add/Remove Programs' list. I now understand the import of the term 'Blue Screen of Death'. I was also fed false information about my PC's Hard Drive via many 'Blue Screens'. Having perused many articles and Forum Posts on this issue, as well as information provided by the vendor, I discovered the prime cause of my grief was 'Malware' by the name of 'CLARO SEARCH' which had embedded itself into my browser and taken control through THANK YOU ALL RESPONDENTS TO MY ABOVE DILEMNA - Please read on: ![]() This recently purchased 'External Drive' is sitting like a useless lump with it's running light 'on' and unusable for want of a 'Driver'. I am led to believe the necessary software is preinstalled, but the driveĭiagnostic scan results indicate that all is well with the disc. No installation CD was supplied with this device. My PC's Device Manager recognises the newly installed hardware, however any and all attempts at installing a driver have failed.
